The real estate at the edge of the Mediterranean: can one still buy?


With increases reaching 30% over 2004, the prices of the apartments and houses located in the big cities of the Mediterranean basin reached true tops, making the purchase much more difficult.

Thus, Marseilles still knew a consequent rise, with 24% of increase on average for 2004! The houses, already rare in the centre town, are seldom negotiated with less than 2600 euros the square meter (either 260.000 euros for a house of 100 square meters). For these 3 big cities as for the others of the Mediterranean basin, the tendency is with the stabilization of the prices, and the specialists announce that the raising of prices to the square meter will be only with one digit in 2005.
